Hi all just an update for you if you were at work and couldn't go...
Not a lot going on yet - it was more of a one to one discussion to find out about the proposed coastal walking path around our island. It's an interesting project however a lot of consultations have got to take place with everybody who could be affected and they are a long way off from working out the proposed route as yet so don't worry - 2020 is a few years off yet...
Regards Peter
This site shows how we are getting on - please keep looking daily for updates... Also remember to look back at the OLDER. POSTS which is at the bottom of each page they will cover many question you may have. Goes back to January 2015...

IMPORTANT LETTER YOU ALL SHOULD HAVE HAD BY NOW...
You should have received a personally addressed 5 page letter sent by post to you from Natural England...
The letter is regarding the improvements to public access along the coast of the Isle of Sheppey and the forthcoming consultation with owners and occupiers of affected land...
I have reproduced the official map from the letter and as can be seen by the orange shaded area we are ALL affected.
Below is the only page I can reproduce here - the full letter is just too involved to be reproduced as a picture and I can't link a PDF file to the Blog site.
If you have not the had your letter please contact :
Jenny Bowen
Senior Adviser England Cost Path Team - South East.
Tel 0208 026 8045
PLEASE TELL OTHERS - I myself did not get the letter as I am not the landowner however, thanks to one of you who told me I was able to put something onto the Blog site just in case others don't know.
Please never assume everyone knows whats going on or whats on the Blog as some don't even look so please tell others in conversation - that way we stay strong as a group.

January 14th - Report.
Hi all. Just an update after the horrific weather with high winds we had together with the high tide surge which punched down the North Sea coast... I have to report further damage to the lower cliff area which has been in direct contact with the crashing high tide waves. The upper area of the cliff that was protected with the special netting has survived the onslaught and is still intact - this is dispite the 49mm of gale driven rain we had on the 12th... This is a sad time as a lot of the work which was done on the lower cliff area during the summer has been undone - all for the want of a few groynes which would have built up the beach so the waves did not crash against the cliff...
As the four old groynes we had on this beach were maliciously destroyed - to make garden furniture - the situation on the erosion of the lower cliff has been accelerated. New groynes would be a saving grace to the lower cliff area - as long as the garden furniture merchant kept his hands off....

Now it's officially winter - 1st Dec
Hi all. After the last video post nothing has gone on except some hopeful plant growth on the cliff matting. We have recently had some really high tides at 6.2 metres which has caused the waves which have been driven by some strong winds cause more erosion. Because of the recent events I have not been able to get down onto the beach to take some pictures however the upper covered levels of the cliff show no more erosion and the plant growth which has come up through the special matting is obviously responsible for this. I will post any newer info I have as time goes on.

What a windy day to pick to go and have a look at the cliffs. Put my video glasses on as I needed both hand free just in case I slipped over!!!

Update - 11th October
Hi all. Just to say the elements have not been in our favour for work to continue recently - not due to bad weather but very high tides I am told. This prevented work going ahead on the foreshore as the high tides were causing the waves to be lapping about four feet up the cliffs...
It is hoped some work will commence again shortly however in the meantime the Willow slips that were planted have mostly started to grow well and are showing a good growth rate...

Road Repairs
I have to say a big thank you to Steve from Sea Foam for all the on-going road repairs he has undertaken over the past months. So many holes in the road have been filled I have lost count and at no cost at all to any of us...
