Now it's officially winter - 1st Dec

Hi all. After the last video post nothing has gone on except some hopeful plant growth on the cliff matting. We have recently had some really high tides at 6.2 metres which has caused the waves which have been driven by some strong winds cause more erosion. Because of the recent events I have not been able to get down onto the beach to take some pictures however the upper covered levels of the cliff show no more erosion and the plant growth which has come up through the special matting is obviously responsible for this. I will post any newer info I have as time goes on.

Cliff Erosion Update - 19th October

What a windy day to pick to go and have a look at the cliffs. Put my video glasses on as I needed both hand free just in case I slipped over!!!

Update - 11th October

Hi all. Just to say the elements have not been in our favour for work to continue recently - not due to bad weather but very high tides I am told. This prevented work going ahead on the foreshore as the high tides were causing the waves to be lapping about four feet up the cliffs...
It is hoped some work will commence again shortly however in the meantime the Willow slips that were planted have mostly started to grow well and are showing a good growth rate...

Road Repairs

I have to say a big thank you to Steve from Sea Foam for all the on-going road repairs he has undertaken over the past months. So many holes in the road have been filled I have lost count and at no cost at all to any of us...

Update - July 2016

The weather has been more stable since my last posting so I felt an update would be useful. A further excellent bit of news is that Natural England has announced this month the Coastal Route Plans for the Coastal Walking Path around Sheppey - starts this year and is expected to be finished in 2020. This will make provision for a path from Sheerness to Warden which our Cliff Pilot Scheme could be helping...

Aerial Video Eastchurch Gap

HD aerial video showing a large area of Eastchurch Gap cliffs and a lot of the caravan parks. Ventured far and wide... There are TWO videos - the other is taken from a wing camera however I have only posted the one film here.

How it all was back in October 2009

UPDATE. 24/3/16. Cliffs starting to dry out - lets hope it lasts so work can soon start - all the materials needed for the work have been purchased now...
As we are now waiting for the cliffs to dry out before any work can start I wanted to keep our Blog alive by posting this aerial video which I made some years back in 2009 flying a model plane fitted with a camera over our homes.
I originally posted it on the Blog as one of the first entries but it has been lost with everything that's gone on since. Remember you can scroll back in date to "Older Posts"at the bottom of each Blog page to see how things proceeded with our project up to the present time... Regards Peter.

Many thanks to all who attended the meeting to find out the start date and plan of action for the work starting on the cliff erosion project.

It was also good to see members of the public from Warden and Leysdown who are also taking an active interest in the project. The community group would also like to express their thanks to the Parish Council for the use of the village hall.
